For over 25 years, PRI Investments has focused on serving the investment needs of high net worth individuals, businesses and institutions. PRI's investment programs seek to achieve high absolute, relative and risk-adjusted rates of return. The investment methodologies and techniques utilized are the product of rigorous, time-tested mathematical research.

PRI was founded by Josef Blass, PhD.  Originally named Pension Research Institute (PRI), the firm focused its attention on developing retirement plans for large institutions such as Travelers Insurance and Fidelity Investments.  Dr. Blass obtained a number of landmark letter rulings that eventually led him to write the first 401k plans for Fidelity Investments.

In 1982, PRI registered as an investment advisor and, under the direction of Dr. Blass, developed mathematical models for investing in the fixed income market.  From the outset, PRI's investment programs were based on disciplined and objective methodologies for asset allocation and financial planning, utilizing US Treasuries and broad-based equity index funds.

In 1987, PRI was hired by the Michigan National Corporation to oversee their entire investment operation including their mutual fund family at Independence One Capital Management, the trust department, and the bank portfolio. Under PRI's direction, the bank was consistently ranked as one of the top fixed income firms in the country. Michigan National Corporation was bought in 1994 and PRI returned to its roots as a manager for high net worth individuals and institutions.

CONTINUING THE TRADITION

Today, PRI operates under the direction of Dr. Blass' son Andrew Blass.  PRI continues to use the same methodologies it has used since its founding.  In addition, Mr. Blass has introduced hedging strategies to the firm repertoire.

PRI’s headquarters are located in Chapel Hill, NC with clients across the United States, UK and Eastern Europe.
