MANAGEMENT | FOUNDERS |

PRI was built upon the research and models developed by its founder, Dr. Josef Blass. A mathematician, entrepreneur and executive, Dr. Blass has applied his considerable talents and expertise to investments, business, and public policy. Dr. Blass pioneered the application of “pattern recognition techniques” to financial markets. These methods, which Dr. Blass and his colleagues rigorously researched and tested, are now applied to a wide array of institutional and individual client portfolios at PRI.
Dr. Blass’ contributions have led to major developments in finance and legislation in the United States and abroad. He is recognized as one of the originators of the 401(k) plan, which he developed while working with Fidelity Group. He is acknowledged as a major participant in the economic reform of his native Poland. Since the collapse of communism in 1989, Dr. Blass has advised every successive Polish administration on monetary policy, social security reforms and the privatization of government-run enterprises.
HUMPHREY FONG, PH.D.
Dr. Humphrey Fong collaborated with Dr. Blass from 1979 to 2005. The research and development methodologies still used at PRI are credited to Dr. Fong and Dr. Blass’ original research. Dr. Fong passed away in 2005.
VIJAY ROHATGI, PH.D.
Dr. Vijay Rohatgi has been an investment research consultant for PRI since 1987. He developed many of the fixed-income programs offered at PRI. Dr. Rohatgi has published several books and over one hundred research papers on probability and statistics. His book, Statistical Inference, is among the most widely used college textbooks in the country.
